Highway 112 offers one of the most dramatic shoreline drives in Washington; the narrow road winds along cliff faces and past extraordinary views. The area is windswept and remote—the only radio stations to be found are from Canada—and the ocean is up close and personal much of the drive.
At the end of the road, 72 miles from Port Angeles [1], Neah Bay sits on the 44-square-mile Makah Indian Reservation in virtual isolation, at the northwesternmost point of the contiguous United States. Anyone who has spent time in a remote Alaskan village will feel right at home in Neah Bay.
