Alec’s by the Sea (131 E Chance à la Mer NE, 360/289-4026, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sun.–Thurs., 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Fri.–Sat.) next to Dick’s IGA, has low prices and a big menu that includes burgers, fresh clams, salads, steaks, pasta, seafood, and chicken.
Galway Bay Irish Pub (676 Ocean Shores Blvd., 360/289-2300, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily) makes great clam chowder.
Mike’s Seafood (830 Point Brown Ave. NE, 360/289-0532, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Sun.) sells fresh-cooked crab from a roadside stand.
Get homemade ice cream, fudge, and chocolates from Murphy’s Candy and Ice Cream (in the Shores Mall, 360/289-0927, 9 a.m.–9 p.m. daily in summer, noon–8 p.m. Mon.–Tues. and Thurs.–Fri., 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sat., 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Sun.)
