As a favorite vacation spot in both winter and summer, Leavenworth [1] is jam-packed with accommodations options. Because of its popularity, prices are high, and you’ll have a tough time finding anything under $60 d a night. Leavenworth has no hostel, so travelers on a tight budget should consider staying in nearby Wenatchee [2] or camping out.
Prices at many motels and B&Bs rise on Friday and Saturday nights, and many places require a two-night minimum for weekends (especially festival weekends). If you’re arriving on a weekend or in the peak summer or winter holiday seasons, try to book your lodging as early as possible, since rooms fill up early. Crowding is not nearly as much of a problem on weekdays, especially in the winter.
The Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce (509/548-5807, www.leavenworth.org [3]) has brochures describing local lodging places and keeps a list of those with vacancies.
