Camp at Alder Lake Park (seven miles south of Eatonville, 360/569-2778), where both tent sites ($19) and RV spaces ($26 full hookups) are available, along with showers. The seven-mile-long lake was created by a dam that produces hydroelectric power for Tacoma City Light.
Reservations are advised for summer weekends. The lake also has a popular sandy beach for sunbathing and swimming.
