Traveling along Highway 12, you can’t miss Rimrock Lake, just a few miles east of White Pass [1]. This massive blue-green lake was created in 1927 by what was then one of the largest earth-filled dams in the country. Today Rimrock is popular with anglers in search of good-sized silvers mid-May to late June, and with boaters, swimmers, and campers.
On the lake, Twelve West (509/672-2460, $30 with full hookups, $25 electric, year-round) has RV hookups, a marina, and hot showers.
Silver Beach Resort (40350 Hwy. 12, 509/672-2500) has rustic cabins with kitchenettes ($80, sleeps four), RV hookups ($20 with water, electric, and dump privileges), and a boat dock. Trout Lodge (27090 Hwy. 12, 509/672-2211, $75 d) has a four-unit motel, store, and restaurant (Fri. 9 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Sat. 8 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Sun. 8 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Mon. 9 a.m.–6:30 p.m.).
