The Spokane Symphony—in existence for nearly 60 years—presents classical, pops, and chamber concerts, plus The Nutcracker at the Spokane Opera House (334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., 509/624-1200, www.spokanesymphony.org [3]). The opera house is also home to music, dance, and dramatic productions throughout the year, including a popular Best of Broadway series of musicals.
The Spokane Civic Theater (1020 N. Howard, 509/325-2507, www.spokanecivictheatre.com [4]) hosts performances from drama to comedy year-round.
Also in town is the Spokane Interplayers Ensemble (509/455-7529, www.interplayers.com [5]), a resident professional theater group performing seven productions each year.
There are plenty of places to catch a flick in Spokane [6], including the 20-plex theater downtown, AMC River Park Square (808 W. Main Ave # 334, 509/747-3456, www.riverparksquare.com [7]), but only the Garland (924 W. Garland, 509/327-1050, www.garlandtheater.com [8]) has films for $3.50.
