One of Philadelphia’s [2] most popular Vietnamese restaurants, Vietnam occupies a warm, inviting space in the heart of Chinatown. It’s hard to go wrong with anything on the reasonably priced menu.

Crispy spring rolls and tender summer rolls are top-notch, as is the grilled BBQ platter that lets you sample a range of appetizers. For entrées, catfish cooked in a clay pot and a variety of vermicelli and pho dishes do not disappoint.

You may have to wait for a table on weekends, but you can order a strong specialty drink from the full bar to pass the time.

Vietnam’s main competitor is Vietnam Palace (222 N. 11th St., 215/592-9596), just across the street. It’s also a local favorite, so try both if you have time.
