It’s worth the trip into deep South Philly to taste what is arguably the best pizza in the city. On a rapidly developing stretch of Passyunk Avenue that now also has a sprinkling of many good but in some cases upscale, trendy restaurants, Marra’s Pizza is a taste of the old neighborhood.
Sit in a red-vinyl booth, sip from a carafe of wine, and eat huge portions of homemade pasta, mussels, calamari, and antipasti.
While the other food is generally good, standard hearty Italian, the best reason to come is for the delicious thin-crust pizza with a variety of standard and exotic toppings.
