Pennypack Park

Pennypack Park is a 1,300-acre portion of Fairmount Park in Northeast Philadelphia and may be the least utilized area of the park. Restoration projects over the past decade are finally bringing Pennypack Park to the attention of residents and visitors.

Pennypack, named after the Lenni Lenape Indian word for slow-moving water, follows Pennypack Creek southeast for nine miles from Montgomery County to the Delaware River. Miles of paved and unpaved trails offer hikers, bikers, and horseback riders a variety of paths for recreation.

The on-site Pennypack Environmental Center offers programs at nearby Fox Chase Farm, a city-owned 112-acre working livestock farm.
