Live thoroughbred racing draws visitors to bet on horses at Philadelphia Park in Bensalem, a 10-minute ride from the city just past Northeast Philadelphia. Avoid the sad casino packed with two floors of slot machines, and instead take a picnic lunch and enjoy the grounds while watching the races.
The annual Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, the largest and oldest horse show in the United States, is held here for 10 days late May–early June.
