Philadelphia [1] is home to several of the world’s best hospitals and medical research facilities. For medical emergencies or short- or long-term care, you will find as good treatment in Philadelphia as anywhere. There are too many to name them all here, but just a few of the most renowned hospitals include Pennsylvania Hospital [2], University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital, Wills Eye Hospital, and Temple University Hospital. Most hospitals are located in Center City and University City.

Independent and chain pharmacies can be found everywhere in the city and you’re never very far from a Rite Aid, CVS, or Walgreens. Among others, there is a 24-hour CVS in Center City West (1826 Chestnut St., 215/972-0909).
