Once you’re done with the dinosaurs at the Kingman Museum [1], more modern species can be found at Battle Creek’s [2] Binder Park Zoo (7400 Division Dr., 269/979-1351, www.binderparkzoo.org [3], 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri., 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Sat., 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Sun. late Apr.–mid-Oct., $7 Mon.–Thurs., $8 Fri.–Sun.), a small but choice zoo that houses exotic and domestic animals in natural settings.
Highlights include the Swamp Adventure, a boardwalk that takes you over bird-filled bogs, marshes, and swamps, and Wild Africa, a pseudo-savannah with giraffes, zebras, ostriches, antelope, and other animals of the region.
