Every July, Gaylord’s [1] Main Street is blocked off for the annual Alpenfest (989/732-6333, www.gaylordalpenfest.com [2]), a five-day event that offers live music, great food and beer, and an assortment of craft booths from Michigan artists. The town even makes room for several amusement park rides.
