Jazz at Jack’s is part-owned by local jazz band Dotsero, which performs at the club every Saturday night. On Tuesday it’s funk night, Sunday with Nelson Rangell are free, and the rest of the week is filled in by a selection of well-known jazz artists on tour such as Steve Cole, Dave Grusin, and many more. And you never know who might drop in and play with the band.
To find Jack’s, look for the neon saxophone in the Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall. The name comes from the first location, which was on Platte Street in the old Jack’s Carpet Warehouse building; this new spot is a big improvement over that cramped and hot room. Here there is ample seating and even a year-round patio.
