Located just east of the airport, Lindberg Bay (Airport Rd.) is a long, narrow beach popular with families, locals, and guests lodging at two airport hotels. A public playground right next door is an added attraction. The bay got its name in 1929 when Charles Lindbergh landed at the nearby field during a goodwill tour of the region following his 1927 solo crossing of the Atlantic.
