The Queen’s Birthday Parade in June brings colonial pomp and ceremony to Front Street to mark the British monarch’s special day. A gun salute is followed by a marching parade featuring the Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums.
In December, kids and parents pack Front and Church Streets for the festive Santa Claus Parade, which features colorful illuminated floats, parish majorettes, gombeys, and Santa riding on a vintage fire engine. “Elves” toss bags of candy to onlookers.
The Christmas Boat Parade that traverses Hamilton Harbour is also a holiday must-see—it’s a magical parade of yachts, barges, charter boats, and pleasure craft decked out in cleverly themed light displays. The best viewing is from Front Street restaurant terraces and along Harbour Road.
