Bamboo, dark woods, privacy screens, and a cozy upstairs nook with views of the harbor elegantly transformed the space, which was previously a deli. The menu includes curries, soups, salads, and specialties like seafood Panang curry ($24), pad Thai ($23.50), stir-fried glass noodles ($22) and Bermuda wahoo ($27.50), all expertly created.
L’Oriental (32 Bermudiana Rd., above Little Venice, tel. 441/296-4477, lunch noon–3 p.m. Mon.–Fri., dinner 6–11 p.m. daily) has some of the island’s best sushi and teriyaki, including Sunday night’s Asian buffet ($31.75).
Bermuda’s favorite Chinese takeout place, Chopsticks (88 Reid St., tel. 441/292-0791, www.bermudarestaurants.com [2], lunch 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Mon.–Fri., dinner 5–11 p.m. daily), is popular for eating in as well. The dramatically designed dining room allows for large parties or dinner for two, and service is efficient and friendly. Staples like fried rice ($9.25), Mai Thai noodles ($13.95), and vegetable and meat foo young ($10.25) are the most popular items.
