One of the island’s best-stocked grocery stores, The Supermart (125 Front St., tel. 441/292-2064, www.supermart.bm [1], 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 1–5 p.m. Sun.) carries the British line of Waitrose products. Its meat department, cheese selection, and fresh produce section are also excellent. There’s a liquor section also. Parking is on the street, or opposite in the small carpark.

Flagship of the islandwide chain, the Hamilton MarketPlace (42 Church St., tel. 441/295-6066, 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 1–5 p.m. Sun.) is a massive food emporium, offering full liquor store, meat department, enormous bakery, full-scale deli with hot and cold dishes and salad bars daily, and all manner of foodstuffs. Kids will enjoy the special car-like trolleys for family use and the remote control train that runs on a circuit overhead hooting its horn. Parking is available outside and in a dedicated carpark beneath the store.

The Shopping Centre (35 Victoria St., tel. 441/292-4545, 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 1–5 p.m. Sun.) is a MarketPlace branch and carries a much smaller selection of goods.
