Weekly skirling ceremonies featuring the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band are held at Fort Hamilton [1] (noon on Mon., Nov.–Mar. only). Dancers and drummers in kilts perform for the crowd atop the fort’s panoramic ramparts.
Fright Night for adults and Haunted Playground for kids bring crowds to Fort Hamilton during Halloween week. Volcanic Productions, an event production company, lays on refreshments and decorates the site Hollywood-style. Particularly evocative are the dungeons and moat gardens, where actors dress up as ghouls to give kids a thrill as they traipse along a circuitous path.
The adult party is usually a Friday night dance soiree, with heavy-duty sound system and full bar, held on the fort’s lawn that commands a bird’s-eye view of Hamilton. For ticket information, see www.volcanic.bm [2] or www.bdatix.bm [3].
