Jeremy Johnson’s Village Carpentry (127 North Shore, tel. 441/292-2088 or 441/295-5370) has been a roadside institution since the 1960s. Today Johnson’s aromatic workshop, spreading the scent of cedar along this stretch of North Shore, is worth a visit to get a glimpse of cedar craftsmen at work. He sells cedar trinkets, animals, and other sweet-smelling mementoes from the roadside building.
