The Bermuda Sub-Aqua Club (Admiralty Park [1], tel. 441/292-6642, information line 441/291-5640) is a NAUI-registered training and diving organization, which arranges regular expeditions for its 150 members throughout the year. Club nights are held on Wednesday evenings after 7 p.m. at the clubhouse, a pink building on the right as you enter the park. Visitors are welcome.
A PADI five-star facility opened in 1981, Dive Bermuda at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel [2] (76 Pitts Bay Rd., tel. 441/295-9485, www.bermudascuba.com [3]) offers two-tank dives leaving its Hamilton center at noon daily through the summer. Snorkelers are also welcome. Popular dive sites off the island’s northwest include the Constellation, the 1918 schooner featured in Peter Benchley’s 1977 thriller, The Deep.
