Crowds flock to Devonshire Recreation Club (20 Frog Ln., tel. 441/292-5539), dubbed “Devonshire Rec,” for evening and weekend soccer games (the resident team is the green-and-gold Cougars) throughout the fall and winter, and cricket showdowns all summer long. Few of the sports fans who party here may appreciate it, but the building that houses the club, with its billiards hall, bar, and canteen, is actually a historic Georgian structure, built in 1760 as one of the Dill family’s ancestral homes.
