Warwick [1] is weak on organized entertainment or events of any kind, and if you’re staying in the parish, you will likely want to seek out nighttime activities at nearby hotels or head into Hamilton. There are a couple of bars, however, that attract crowds of locals and tourists, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Warwick Workman’s Club (42 Cobb’s Hill Rd., tel. 441/236-7470, noon–midnight, except Christmas Day, Wed. happy hour 5–8 p.m.) is a favorite with local cab drivers, construction workers, and other area Bermudians, as well as its 100-plus membership. Friday afternoons are boisterous, when, as in many parish bars, the weekend starts early. But the atmosphere is always cordial.
In the Pocket Lounge and Bar (47 Middle Rd., tel. 441/236-5290, 7 p.m.–1 a.m., except major holidays) is found inside Warwick Lanes [2], the island’s only bowling alley. Friday happy hour starts at 4 p.m., and the bar also welcomes a busy Sunday night crowd.
Visitors and locals alike flock to The Swizzle South Shore (87 South Shore Rd., tel. 441/236-7459, 11 a.m.–1 a.m. daily), the Warwick [1] branch of Hamilton Parish [3]’s landmark Swizzle Inn. Writing on the bar’s walls is encouraged here.
