The panoramic
Bermudiana Dining Room at Pink Beach Club [1] (116 South Shore Rd., Tucker’s Town, tel. 441/293-1666, fax 441/293-8935, www.pinkbeach.com [2], dinner only 7–9:30 p.m. daily) attracts both locals and visitors with five-course gourmet cuisine ($20 for guests) nightly. Intimate lamp-lit tables look out from the high, glass-fronted room over Tucker’s Town’s reefy shoreline. Appetizers like tamarind-painted Virginia quail with shiitake mushroom slaw ($13.95) and entrées such as lavender honey-glazed Barbary duck breast ($30) are inspired and priced in the same league as dishes in far inferior establishments. The restaurant also has one of the island’s largest wine cellars, with more than 230 wines, 10 by the glass. The dress code requires that gentlemen wear a jacket, but the necktie is optional. Reservations necessary.
Alfresco lunch is a quiet escape at Pink Beach Club’s Ocean Terrace (tel. 441/293-1666, lunch noon–3 p.m., dinner 6:30–9:30 p.m., May–Oct.), thanks to the resort’s peacefully upscale neighborhood and wide-open views of the South Shore. Salads, sandwiches, soups, and pastas are among the offerings.
