The intimate 
Copa Café (Av. Atlântica 3056, Loja B, Copacabana, tel. 21/2235-2947, 7 p.m.–2 a.m., R$35–45) has brought a welcome touch of hipness to Avenida Atlântica. In the downstairs bar/lounge, an alternative GLS crowd sips cocktails, nibbles on gourmet burgers, and warms up for the night’s adventures with sultry DJ-spun tunes. Meanwhile, upstairs is given over to contemporary dining, with refined dishes such as duck cooked in vanilla-steeped port with Moroccan couscous, and langoustine risotto with curried apples and ginger.
