Curitiba [1]’s downtown core and historic center are compact and easy to explore on foot. To get to outlying attractions and the majority of the city’s parks, you can rely on the terrific municipal bus system. Better yet is the very handy Linha Turismo (tel. 41/3352-8000, 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Tues.–Sun.), which departs from Praça Tiradentes.
This special bus line was created especially for tourists. Buses circulate at 30-minute intervals throughout the day with short stops at 23 major (and minor) attractions throughout the city and suburbs. The entire tour takes around 2.5 hours. The R$15 daily pass allows you to get off at any four stops you want. You can then continue the tour on a later bus. To take advantage of this option, it’s best to start out early in the morning.
