Salvador [1]’s nightlife is somewhat of an enigma. Contrary to its fame as a partying place, when the sizzling summer season comes to an end many bars and clubs close early if they don’t shut down altogether. Supposedly, the blame falls to the fickleness of Soteropolitanos. However, there is always something happening in Barra [2] and Rio Vermelho [3], and the Pelô [4] and Centro [5] offer a few old standbys that never go out of style.
