Travelers of every taste and budget can find a place to call home in San Cristóbal [1]. The city has some lovely B&Bs [2], though not as many as you might expect in such a charming and historic city. Hotels [3] are more numerous, both midrange and high-end, and we’ve listed those that offer the best value for their respective price.

There is no shortage whatsoever of budget options, including some great hostels and small hotels. But backpackers beware, as San Cristóbal also has a slew of slapdash “posadas” offering little atmosphere, and even less service or security.

You’re sure to be approached at the bus station by flyer-toting touts—some are from recommendable places, others are not.
