Tapachula [1]’s Parque Central (6a Av. Nte. at 5a Calle Pte.) may be the prettiest place in town, lined with trees and benches, with a soaring fountain, an 18th-century church, and several renovated colonial buildings. It also is a bustling, modern square, with huge discount shops and shoe boutiques, open-air eateries and chain restaurants, and sidewalk vendors peddling everything from balloons to cucumber shampoo.
