Dive Shops

There are several dive shops operating out of West Bay [1]. Bananarama (tel. 504/445-5005, U.S. tel. 727/564-9058, www.bananaramadive.com [2], fun dive US$35, beginner’s Open Water certification US$325), toward the southern end of the beach, has a good reputation.

TGI (tel. 504/403-8049, www.tgidiving.com [3], fun dive US$35, beginner’s Open Water certification US$350) has a PADI five-star dive shop that works with the Henry Morgan and Paradise Beach Club resorts, and is scheduled to open another at Infinity Bay in September 2009. They sell equipment as well as rent.

The Mayan Princess has its own dive shop (tel. 504/445-5050, U.S. tel. 786/299-5929, www.mayanprincess.com [4]), to which the Casa de Paradise hotel also sends its guests.

At the northern end of the beach, Las Rocas (tel. 504/403-8046, U.S. tel. 877/379-8645, www.lasrocasresort.com [5]) has a dive shop, and Anemona (tel. 504/3266-6719, www.anemonadivers.com [6]) is run out of Foster’s hotel.
