A magnificently isolated beach resort on the north side of Roatán [1],

Palmetto Bay Plantation consists of a dozen or so freestanding bungalow houses set amid a shady grove of palms at the edge of a broad, beautiful beach and backed by lush tropical forest. Each of the 19 bungalow houses has 2–3 bedrooms.
Palmetto Bay Plantation offers dive packages through an on-site branch of the highly regarded dive shop Subway Watersports (tel. 504/3387-0579 or 504/445-5707, www.subwaywatersports.com [4]), as well as kayaking and horseback riding to its guests, and has an international restaurant serving three meals a day. All-inclusive packages and weekly rates are available. Provided they can get there, the public is welcome to enjoy the beach at Palmetto Bay, as long as they have at least one meal at the restaurant.
