Snorkeling right off Bonacca [1] is an unpleasant adventure, as the surrounding coral is dead and litter content in the water is high. It’s better to hire a boat and go to the northwest sides of either Southwest Cay or Half Moon Cay, where vibrant corals are found in shallow water.
The enterprising can ask around in Bonacca to set up fishing trips in local waters. Wahoo, king mackerel, and barracuda are frequent catches.
