U.S.-style malls are the latest retail rage to hit Honduras [1]. The nicest is City Mall (Av. Circunvalación past 12 Calle SO), with over 200 stores, eight movie screens, and a couple of dozen restaurants.
Multiplaza is at the intersection of Avenida Circunvalación and the exit to Tegucigalpa [2], behind the Hotel Camino Real (with a children’s play area and wireless Internet in the food court).
The new, more upscale Galerías del Valle has opened in the northwest of the city as well. Perhaps the high vacancy rates (it was only about 25 percent occupied as of 2008) attest to the mall saturation in town.
