La Lima Golf Club (tel. 504/668-7816, www.clubcampestrelalima.com [1]), 20 minutes from San Pedro [2] off the highway to El Progreso [3], was originally built by United Fruit for its workers and guests but is now a private club open to anyone who will pay. Nonmembers may play 9 holes for US$16, or all 18 for US$21. Club rental is US$8. Generally, no reservations are necessary. To get there, look for the Colonia Tela entrance from the El Progreso highway, just east of the Río Chamelecón.

Also in San Pedro Sula is the 9-hole Las Lomas Golf Club (tel. 504/553-3106), which is open to nonmembers but does not have equipment rental.
