Super Donuts (2 Calle between 2 and 3 Av. SO, tel. 504/552-7812, 6 a.m.–8 p.m. daily), opposite the catedral, has an inexpensive and filling buffet breakfast.
Although the only thing Scandinavian about it is the Viking ship logo, Pastelería Skandia (7 a.m.–7 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Sun.), around the corner from the Gran Hotel Sula [1], has a tasty selection of pastries and good licuados.
The national chain Espresso Americano (tel. 504/552-4793, 6:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Mon.–Sat.), right on the corner of the parque and the peatonal pedestrian street, serves up a good espresso in a modern, coffee-bar atmosphere.
Among the several juice stands downtown is Super Jugos, at the corner of 2 Calle and 6 Avenida SO, open 8 a.m.–9 p.m. every day.
