By consensus, the best sushi in Tegucigalpa [1] is at
Usami (tel. 504/221-0505, noon–2:30 p.m. and 6–9 p.m.Mon.–Sat.), on a residential street of Castaños Sur in Colonia Minitas, a few blocks south of Boulevard Morazán. Take a seat in the wooden tables in the cool, tile-floored dining area and choose from the extensive menu of sushi, sashimi, tempura, and other Japanese specialties. Prices are high but not outrageous (US$5–9 for most sushi rolls) considering the quality.
Sushi Bar (tel. 504/239-3233, noon–2 p.m. and 5:30–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat.), in the Bakery Center on Avenida República de Argentina in Colonia Palmira, a block off Boulevard Morazán, is easier to find, but their sushi is pricier than at Usami and there is less selection.
