Far up on the mountainside above Tegucigalpa [1], on the road to El Hatillo, is La Cumbre (tel. 504/211-9000 or 504/211-9001, 6–10 p.m. Tues.–Sat., noon–3 p.m. Sun.), a restaurant that would be worth going to just for its spectacular views over the city but thankfully has good international food. Bring a sweater or jacket—it can be cool up in the hills. Reservations recommended.
If you’re heading northeast out of the city toward Valle de Ángeles [2], look for Clarita’s on the right-hand side of the road, about halfway between Tegus and Santa Lucía [3]. It sells authentic Mexican soft tacos along with a variety of Mexican handicrafts.
