Aeropuerto Internacional Luis Muñoz Marín (SJU, Isla Verde, 787/791-4670 or 787/791- 3840, fax 787/253-3185 or 787/791-4834) is nine miles east of San Juan [1]. It is a full-service airport with three terminals. There are a bank, restaurants, bars, and shops on the second floor alongside the departure gates. A tourist-information office (787/791-1014) is in Terminal C, and a ground-service desk is on the first level by the baggage claim.
For transportation into the city from the airport, there are several car-rental agencies on the first level, including Wheelchair Getaway Rent A Car (787/726-4023), which provides vehicles for drivers with disabilities. The first level is also where you can catch a taxi or bus into town. From the airport, take Baldorioty de Castro Avenue west toward Isla Verde, Ocean Park, and Condado and into Old San Juan [2].
The airport also is the site of the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport Hotel (787/791-1700), which can be found in Terminal D on the second level.
Airline ticket prices fluctuate throughout the year, but the cheapest rates can usually be secured during the off-season, May–September, which is the rainy season. Note that late summer and early fall are also hurricane season.
