Palmas del Mar Country Club (Palmas del Mar, Country Club Dr., Humacao, 787/285-2255, www.palmasdelmar.com [1]) has two 18-hole, 72-par courses: Golf Club was built in 1974 by Gary Player, and Flamboyan, considered one of the island’s most challenging, is a newer course designed by Rees Jones. There are also tennis courts, an equestrian center, an enormous pool, a fitness center, and a modest spa.
Sea Ventures Palmas Dive Center (110 Harbour Dr., Palmas del Mar, Humacao, 787/781-8086 or 787/739-3483, seaventures [at] divepuertorico [dot] com, www.divepalmasdelmar.com [2]) offers daily two-tank dives in the morning and snorkeling trips in the afternoon. There are more than 35 dives sites in the area, including overhangs, caverns, reefs, and tunnels. It also goes to Cayo Santiago.
Rancho Buena Vista (Palmas Dr., Palmas Del Mar Resort, Humacao, 787/479-7479, www.ranchobuenavistapr.com [3]) is an equestrian center offering horseback riding on the beach and pony rides for children.
