Guayama features a lovely central plaza, Plaza de Recreo Cristóbal Colón, distinguished by rows of unique umbrella-shaped trees and Iglesia San Antonio de Padúa, a neo-Roman–style church with twin towers. The church’s construction was begun in 1827 but wasn’t completed until 40 years later.
Guayama is home to several significant natural attractions, including two forests and a butterfly reserve, as well as a couple of interesting museums.
