Generally, however, room rates fall between $100 and $250. There are no traditional all-inclusive resorts in Puerto Rico, where meals are included with the price of the room, although Copamarina Resort in Guaníca and the Horned Dorset Primavera in Rincón offer all-inclusive packages.
A tax is applied to all accommodations, but many properties include the tax in the rate, so ask to be sure. Typically the tax is 9 percent of the rate, but hotels with casinos charge 13 percent tax. Resorts usually add on a resort service fee, which is typically an additional 9 percent.
Many accommodations offer two rates—the most expensive is during high season (typically January–April), the least expensive is during low season (May–December). If you’re traveling during high season, be sure to book your room early or you may find your options limited. Note that the high season for destinations and accommodations catering to Puerto Rican travelers may be during the summer months.
