The small Club Congress inside the historic Hotel Congress [2] is Tucson [3]’s premier spot for touring alternative rock and alt-country bands. Most nights, if there’s not a band playing there’s a DJ and dancing.
Music geeks and college-town rock-and-rollers frequent the shows here, and it’s a kind of headquarters for the thriving downtown music scene—the stage new local bands aspire to.
If you’re not in the mood for sweaty crowds, guitars, or break-beats, there’s a somewhat quieter lounge in the lobby, but the music is the club’s reason for being, and thank the gods for that. Check their website for the live music schedule and show times.
