Altos de Chavón [1]’s La Tienda (Casa de Campo, tel. 809/523-3333, ext. 5398) is the perfect place to go for original art. Since it is the home of a school of design, many of the students’ artworks and crafts are actually for sale. Handmade purses, clothing, paintings, and jewelry are a few of the choices. Other shops on the premises are filled with things like Dominican souvenirs and fine linen.
La Marina at Casa de Campo has lots of shops to keep you busy, selling everything from haute jewelry and clothing to chic beachwear.
