You’ll find most of the Valley’s sports action in Phoenix [1], but every March the Boys of Spring descend upon Scottsdale [2] for the Cactus League spring training series.

Baseball fans can catch the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium (7408 E. Osborn Rd., 480/312-2586, www.scottsdaleaz.gov/stadium [3]), battling one of 13 other MLB teams on the field, including the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers, and hometown Arizona Diamondbacks.

You can also grab a hot dog and a game at the downtown stadium during the Arizona Fall League in October.

The other big spectator event in Scottsdale is the FBR Open [4], the single largest event on the PGA Tour. Each year in late January or early February, pro golfers come to play the TPC Scottsdale [5] Stadium Course and their fans come to watch and enjoy the tournament’s party scene. This is not your typical golf tournament.
