However, if you’re looking to escape to a desert playground, you have to try one of the city’s mega-resorts, an Arizona specialty. Enjoy mornings on the tee, afternoons in the pool, and evenings under the stars.
Fortunately, even the most luxurious resorts become affordable in the summer, when the temperatures soar into the triple digits and visitors become a bit wary of making a trip to the Valley of the Sun. Locals, though, take advantage of these hometown oases, spending a “stay-cation” at the four- and five-star resorts, which often offer spa and food vouchers. Don’t consider them out of your price range until you give them a call or check their websites.
