If art and cultural events are the reasons many of Naples [1]’s well-heeled visitors say they’re coming to town, shopping is nonetheless never far from the top of their priority list.
Interspersed among all those art galleries and cultural sites are a number of high-end and not-so-high-end shops. Along Fifth Avenue you can buy a dinner jacket at Brodeur Carvell Fine Menswear (850 5th Ave. S., 239/261-7767), swimwear ranging from the casual—Julie’s Of Naples (643 5th Ave. S., 239/434-9761)—to the upscale—Femmes Je Vous Aime (362 5th Ave. S., 239/403-0722), gold jewelry from Anthony Verderamo (800 5th Ave. S., 239/403-7772), or a hat from The Hat Lady of Naples (1200 5th Ave. S., 239/262-8040).
From candles and furniture to dog treats and Christmas ornaments, there is also a wide variety of shops offering numerous ways to dispose of whatever disposable income you may have with you.
A walk through the Village on Venetian Bay (4300 Gulf Shore Blvd.) may not have the charm of a stroll along Fifth Avenue, but the upscale open-air mall is home to more than 50 boutiques as well as a handful of restaurants and art galleries.
