The best dining option in Animal Kingdom [1] is Africa’s Tusker House (open all day, breakfast $18.99 adults, $10.99 children; lunch $19.99 adults, $10.99 children; dinner $26.99 adults, $12.99 children). The buffet-style restaurant hosts a unique breakfast, offering character dining in the form of “Donald’s Safari Breakfast.” The rest of the day features an incredible selection of pan-global dishes ranging from couscous and vegetable samosas to Cape Malay curry chicken and spiced tandoori tofu, along with more routine plates like grilled salmon, rotisserie chicken, and for the kids, PB and J, mac-and-cheese, and more.
The Yak & Yeti restaurant is actually two separate restaurants; guests can take advantage of counter service for simple Chinese dishes like sweet and sour pork and kung pao beef, or they can sit down for a more extensive and expensive menu. Unfortunately, the food here has yet to live up to its location or its prices; despite the beautiful theming of the restaurant, the Chinese fare—glazed roast duck, lo mein, crispy fish, stir-fried beef and broccoli—is nowhere near the quality one would expect for entrées that can range in price from $16.99 to $22.99.
For light bites, head to the Kusafiri Coffee Shop inside Tusker House for fresh pastries and coffee, or Asia’s Royal Anandapur Tea Company, which features a variety of black, green, and oolong teas from around the world.
There is also an outpost of the Rainforest Cafe chain at the park’s entrance; although the eco-theming is in line with the park’s modus operandi, there’s nothing spectacular about the menu here other than the eye-popping prices.
