Jacksonville [1] is home to one of the five Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tours (111 Busch Dr., 904/696-8373, www.budweisertours.com [2], 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Mon.–Sat., free) available in the United States. Unfortunately, the Jacksonville [1] brewery has little of the historic charm of, say, the St. Louis location; the glass-paneled office buildings and personality-free facilities here provide little of interest beyond learning about beer-making itself. (Heck, there aren’t even any Clydesdales.)
While Joe Sixpack may marvel at the enormous fermentation tanks, even the snootiest hop-head will likely get some sort of thrill from watching the production of factory beers, even if it’s simply mocking the sterile precision of the whole affair.
Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tours are open to all ages, but you must be at least 21 years old to get a free beer sample after all that walking around.
