Marine Discovery Center

The Marine Discovery Center (162 N. Causeway, 386/428-4828, www.marinediscoverycenter.org [1], 2-hour ecotours $25 adults, $20 seniors and students, $10 children, children under 4 free) is a nonprofit environmental educational organization that primarily focuses on research and providing curriculum-based tours for school groups. Visitors to the area can also take advantage of a selection of ecotours.

Although the big pontoon boat they use isn’t the most pastoral setting for a voyage through the lagoon backwaters, the knowledgeable guides help ensure a revelatory look at the wildly beautiful ecosystems in the estuary.

For a quieter adventure, the center also provides kayak rentals and guided kayak tours.
