Horseback Riding

Riding across the dunes [1] into the sunset on a trusty steed sounds like a fantasy, but you can do it too thanks to C&M Stables (90241 U.S. 101, Florence, 541/997-7540, www.oregonhorsebackriding.com [2]). Rates range $45–60 per person for trips of 1–2 hours (with discounts for larger parties).

The stables are open daily and are located near 14 miles of horse trails that wind through the forest on a bluff above the beach. With beach rides, dune trail excursions, and sunset trips, there’s something for everybody. Call for times and reservations.
